 Tolu Balsam
The Balsam of Tolu is a tall tree native to northern South America. The Tolu Balsam essential oil is derived from the wild tolu trees in Venezuela. The Balsam trees are tapped like rubber trees to collect their resin-like gums that are used commercially and sold as balsam.
Blends
With : Spices, floral and oriental bases, Petitgrain, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, and Rose. Tolu Balsam is also highly regarded as a great fixative that binds other more volatile aromas and allows them to last longer.

 Turmeric
Blends With : Turmeric essential oil lends a very
distinct softness and roundness to any spicy scent or blend. This includes Ginger and other spice oils, as well as Ylang Ylang and Clary Sage.
Skin and Body Care: Turmeric essential oil is viewed as a strong relaxant and balancer. It also has historical applications as an antiseptic, and for skin care use against acne and facial hair in women.

 Valerian Root
Blends With : Valerian Root essential oil blends well with Patchouli, Pine, Lavender,
Cedarwood, Mandarin, Petitgrain and Rosemary.
Skin and Body Care:
Valerian Root has been used to combat insomnia, nervousness, restlessness,
tension, agitation, headaches as the result of nervous tension, and panic
attacks. It has also been used on muscle spasms, palpitations of the heart,
cardiovascular spasm and neuralgia. Valerian Root is also believed to be a
suitable replacement for catnip based on similar chemical components.

Solvent extracted from
the bean and having the characteristic lovely aroma of vanilla. Traditionally
used as a flavoring or fragrance.

 Vetiver
A higher quality oil than the Java vetiver,
which tends to smell burnt. Traditionally used for acne, arthritis, depression,
insomnia, nervous tension and stress, wounds. Reputed to be antiseptic,
rubefacient, sedative for the nerves, circulatory stimulant.

 Violet Leaf
Absolute
An intensely dark green
oil with a crisp green-leaf aroma, typical of a bouquet of violets. Violet leaf
is an important component of floral based perfumes (i.e. muguets), chypres,
fantasy type perfumes and in blends where a cucumber-like freshness is
desired.

 Wintergreen Gaultheria
Wintergreen is a small evergreen herb which
grows up to 15cm (6 in) high with slender stems, leathery serrated leaves,
drooping white flowers followed by fleshy scarlet berries.
Blends With : Wintergreen blends well with Ylang Ylang,
Peppermint, Marjoram Sweet, Lavender, Birch and Vanilla.
Skin and Body Care:
Wintergreen has a history of use as a pain
reliever. It is also believed to increase the speed of healing for skin
disorders, and when added to lotions, acts as a natural moisturizer.

 Yarrow
Historically used as an anti-inflammatory because of its high azulene content
(which is responsible for the blue coloring), this oil is also a reputed
treasure for toning the skin, eczema, hair growth, varicose veins and acne.
