Basic Action of Massage

About Massage
Massage is a kind of physical work by hand to make the skin and muscle tissue for the purposes of good health. 
The application of soft-tissue manipulation techniques to the skin, body, generally intended to reduce stress and fatigue while improving circulation. The many variations of massage account for several different techniques.
Massage is made by hands to rub, scrube, tissue lightly  the skin's surface.

tematic and scientific manipulation of body tissues, performed with the hands for therapeutic effect on the nervous and muscular systems and on systemic circulation. It was used more than 3,000 years ago by the Chinese.

  Basic Manipulation/Action of Massage :

  • Effeulage : to skim" or "to touch lightly on", is a series of massage strokes used in Swedish massage to warm up (light but thorough stroking with fingers and palms) of the body, face and neck.
  • Friction : They are all performed with the padded palmar surface of the hand, the surface of the finger and also the thumbs. 
     

  • Petrissage are massage movements with applied pressure which are deep and compress the underlying muscles. Kneading, wringing, skin rolling and pick-up-and-squeeze are the petrissage movements.

  • Iapotement : Tapotement is a specific stroke and movement and technique and motion used in Swedish massage technique. .
